Spring blooming bulbs - a selection from Northview. It has been a rainy week with not enough sun to make the bulbs open up and shine but some stalwarts continue to grow. Chionodoxa Violet Beauty, Hyacinth Splendid Cornelia, Daffodil and Crocus Jeanne d’Arc. I hope that you are seeing some signs of spring in your garden. If not now it must be soon.

Cheerful daffodils for a blustery day. If it looks like the daffys are dancing - they may be. There is a howling gale coming in through the window cracks. Snow flurries for most of the morning. March is living up to its old saying ‘In like a lion’ let’s hope by the end of the month it goes out ‘like a lamb’. The vase was bought on my recent lecture tour in Detroit @pewabic pottery - near Belle Isle. It has a gorgeous smooth finish, dark celadon color. Made by Steven Kin - so talented. Thanks to @scs_richardsrambles for taking me there. Great day.

Views of the flowering bulb garden at Keukenhof, Holland. View from the windmill across the hyacinth fields - scented. Then view through the trees to the windmill. Third - the ‘river’ of muscari. Last - a mixed bulb planting with crown fritillaria, daffodils, tulips and fritillaria persica and final view of the windmill. Sounds of the windmill blades, the birds singing, the pipe organ near the muscari river, and more birds. Hope that you enjoy.
